Lead Packaging Equipment Engineer (Boise, ID)

Summary

The Packaging Equipment?Engineer will provide guidance and direction on projects to satisfy Simplot’s long term strategic goals, while maintaining a satisfactory cost-benefit ratio, and complying with safety, environmental and quality standards. ?Responsibilities include leading and supervising resources and vendors as the team creates, modifies, and tests packaging solutions to technical problems. ?Develop specifications for equipment, tools, facility layouts, or product-handling systems.? Lead the effort in developing construction bid packages, select contractors, and help oversee the technical aspects of construction and start-up.? Review contractual commitments, customer specifications, or related information to determine logistics or support requirements.? Duties also include working between all levels of the Simplot organization. This person must have excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills to address technical and compliance issues as they occur.?

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, approve, or modify equipment, layouts, and designs.?
  • Oversee the process of the development of the budget and monitor actual expenses to ensure they fall within budgets.? ??
  • Analyze the budget expenses and incomes.?
  • Supervise and lead engineers.? ? ? ? ? ?
  • Ensure the success in meeting respective objectives and goals timely.?
  • Make detailed plans to accomplish group goals.??
  • Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??
  • Confer with higher levels of management.? ? ? ? ? ?
  • Present the engineering plans, progress status updates, and stationers to project stakeholders and financiers.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
  • Hire, train, and mentor other engineers and supporting staff.?

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

  • 10+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

Must have excellent leadership and supervisory skills and above average oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time and project management skills such as planning out work, developing budgets, tracking expenditures, following up on assignments, and keeping appropriate documentation of activities. Must be able to accurately define problems, collect data, interpret analytical results, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations to stakeholders. Adheres to all standards, policies and systems as appropriate.
